See all word-class tags a word has been assigned

To see what POS-tags has been assigned to a word, you can use the Word Query function or the Part-of-Speech query.

Word Query

  1. Click on the Word Query icon (or use the File menu New Query and then Word). The Word Query window opens
  2. Type your word in the empty box at the top and the click Lookup.
  3. A list of words that begin with the string you have entered appears in the middle box. There you can see the frequency of each of them and also how many forms (part-of-speech tags) that word has.
  4. Click on one of the words to see the frequency of it and how many forms (part-of-speech/POS tags) it has. The frequency of the different forms (words with different part-of-speech tags) appears in the bottom box.
  5. Click on one of the words or forms and then click Query to make a search for that item (use ctrl+click to select more than one).

Part-of-Speech Query (POS)

  1. Click on the Part-of-Speech query icon (or use the File menu New Query and then POS). The POS Query window opens
  2. Type your word in the box at the top of the POS window and press the TAB-key. A list appears in the bottom box of the window, listing all the tags this word has been assigned in the corpus.
  3. Click on the POS-tag you want (click the Tag Help button to see a description of all the POS tags used in the corpus) and then click OK to search (use ctrl+click to select more than one tag).
